How to use
1. Prepare the Surface:
Clean the Wood: Before applying beeswax polish, ensure the wood surface is clean and dry. Dust it off with a soft cloth and remove any dirt or grime.
Remove Old Polish or Wax: If your wood has accumulated old layers of polish or wax, it’s a good idea to strip them first for a fresh start. You can use a wax remover or a mild wood cleaner to do this.
2. Apply the Beeswax Polish:
Use a Soft Cloth or Pad: Apply a small amount of beeswax polish to a clean, soft cloth, microfiber cloth, or a polishing pad. You don’t need much—just a little goes a long way.
Apply in Circular Motions: Rub the polish onto the wood in small circular motions. Start in an inconspicuous area to check how the wood reacts and how the finish looks.
Work in Small Sections: Apply wax in small, manageable sections to ensure even coverage, especially if you're working with large furniture or surfaces.
3. Allow the Beeswax to Set:
Let It Sit for a Few Minutes: After applying a thin layer of beeswax polish, allow it to sit for around 5-10 minutes (or as directed by the product) to let the beeswax soak into the wood.
Don’t Over-Apply: Since beeswax is quite rich, too much can leave a greasy or sticky residue. Less is more—just a thin layer is sufficient.
4. Buff the Surface:
Buff to a Shine: Once the beeswax has had time to settle, use a clean, soft cloth to buff the surface. Buff in small, circular motions or with the grain of the wood to bring out the shine and smoothness.
Continue Buffing: The more you buff, the shinier the surface will become. For a matte finish, buff more lightly, and for a glossier finish, continue buffing for a few extra minutes.
5. Maintain Your Beeswax Finish:
Regular Dusting: Dust the wood regularly with a soft cloth to prevent dirt buildup. Use a dry microfiber cloth to avoid scratching the surface.
Reapply Wax as Needed: Depending on the wear and tear on the furniture or wood surface, you may need to reapply beeswax polish every 3 to 6 months (or as needed). Frequent handling, exposure to sunlight, or moisture may necessitate more regular touch-ups.
